WLOS are ‘over the rainbow’ to announce the incredible creative team for our huge 2019 production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at the New Wimbledon Theatre!

In the driving seat as Director is Angela Daniel. As a long standing member of WLOS, Angela has been involved in numerous productions both on and off the stage. The Wizard of Oz will mark the 6th show she has directed for WLOS, having most recently taken ‘Lend me a Tenor’ to the Oratory School Theatre in 2017. She can’t wait to add this much loved classic to her repertoire.

Joining Angela as Musical Director is Sam Fisher, who returns to WLOS fresh off the back of our 2018 musical ‘Copacabana’ and Summer cabaret. Sam brings a wealth of experience to the role, having MD’d an abundance of shows both in and out of London and played in many a band. Wizard of Oz is a favourite of Sams and he can’t wait to get started.

Vicki Rice joins the team as Choreographer. Vicki choreographed 2016 Summer Cabaret and was Assistant Choreographer for Made in Dagenham. She is delighted to be returning to WLOS for our biggest challenge yet. Vicki is a qualified dance teacher and is currently Choreographer for ‘Kiss me Kate’.

Finally, looking after all things production are dream team Amy Matthewson and Chris Irving. Wizard of Oz will mark their first venture as Producers and they’re both looking forward to bringing their on and offstage experience to the role. Amy and Chris have been actively involved in WLOS for the past two years in performance, technical and logistical roles.

Wizard of Oz will run from the 23rd-26th of October 2019 at The New Wimbledon Theatre. Auditions will take place in June (dates tbc) with rehearsals starting in July 2019.

We’re looking for people to get involved! If you have any creative/technical/publicity skills let us know by emailing shows@wlos.org.uk
