Chairman – Sean Anderson
I joined WLOS for Anything Goes in 2013 and had so much fun that I’ve thrown myself into the society ever since. I’ve performed in shows and choirs since I can remember and as well as my passion for musical theatre, love close harmony and a capella. A retail programme manager by day, I’m used to delivering great results with limited budgets, lean teams to tight deadlines!
Deputy Chairman – Angela Daniel
I joined WLOS in 2010 (after having recently returned from Thailand where I lived for 20 years) and have served on the Committee for 7 years. In Bangkok I helped to run an English-speaking Community Theatre group and co-founded my own company staging dinner theatre productions. My first role with WLOS was playing Pike’s mum in Dad’s Army and I had such fun and met such nice people that I decided to stick around for a bit! Since then I have performed in many WLOS productions and directed ‘HMS Pinafore’, ‘Curtains’, ‘Honk’ ‘Lend Me A Tenor’ and co-directed ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ for the society.
Treasurer – Amy Matthewson
I joined WLOS for Summer Cabaret 2016 and was overcome by how friendly and dedicated the WLOS members are. It wasn’t long before I joined the committee as treasurer, taking over from the wonderful Paul after his 20+ year tenure. As a finance manager for a living, I have a strange love for spreadsheets, and being on committee lets me combine my passion for organisation and process with my side-passion of dancing, harmonizing and generally being part of a show-family.
Business Manager – Chris Irving
I joined WLOS in 2016 to stage manage ‘Lend Me a Tenor’ and joined the committee shortly after. I have been involved in technical theatre since the age of 10 and now regularly production manage or stage manage for WLOS productions. As a supply chain manager in the real world, I love organising the backstage antics and making sure everyone has good fun along the way!
Secretary – Alice Hudson Sheaf
I was introduced to WLOS in the year 2000 by a previous Musical Director who I met at Cambridge University G&S Society. 16 years later I thought it was about time I offered my services to the committee! I am a stalwart of the WLOS chorus, and having been in the society a while I have now been in a couple of shows twice, aging from a daughter in Fiddler on the Roof first time round to a mother the second time, reflecting my real life since I am now a Mum!
Membership Secretary – Abbie Minnock
Publicity Officer – Ali Coates-Newman
Social Secretary – Harriet Ruby
I joined WLOS for Made In Dagenham in 2016 and quickly jumped head first into the WLOS committee. I moved to London in 2012 and loved the south west Amdram (or SWamdram) so much that I became a member of three societies in the area. During the day I am a tech marketeer but by night I am whatever character in what ever show WLOS are currently doing (or directing).
General Member – Janet Huckle
Like Sean, Anything Goes was my first show with WLOS. I’d been involved in musical theatre as a kid, but after a hiatus I joined the choir at my last workplace and realised I needed to get back into performing. Currently a freelance event manager, I really do enjoy putting on a show! I’m looking forward to a successful future for WLOS.
General Member – Paul Sadler
I joined WLOS in 1986 and have now been Treasurer for over 20 years. I love the warmth and friendliness of the society and the quality of the new members we seem to attract. As well as singing and performing a number of principal roles, I’ve played piano, guitar and double bass, and arranged and orchestrated a number of pieces. Favourite WLOS memory – Hordes of helpers round Huckles’ kitchen table producing ‘cut and paste’ orchestral parts for Beggar’s Opera.
